The best AI agent for agencies and consultancies
Billable work across many client accounts, logins and deadlines. Here is how 5 tools score against what this job actually needs, and where each one fits.
What agencies actually need done
Agency work is the hardest test in this market, because most of it lives behind someone else's login. The deliverable is rarely a file on your machine: it is a change in a client's ad account, CMS or CRM, produced under a deadline and billed by the hour.
That is why this ranking weights breadth beyond code, team controls and unattended running above raw coding ability. A tool that cannot hold credentials safely or drive a real logged-in browser cannot do the majority of agency work, however good its code output is.
Their ad manager, their CMS, their analytics, their inbox. Mostly behind a login, often without an API.
Client A credentials must never appear in client B work. Isolation is a requirement, not a preference.
The audit, the monthly report, the content batch: the same shape of work, different client.
Juniors should not be able to push to a client production account because an agent suggested it.

How we weighted it
Every tool carries one set of scores across 6 dimensions, used on every page of this site. A page for agencies does not rewrite those scores, it weights them. Here is every weight, including the ones turned down:
Most agency work happens inside a client's ad manager, CMS or CRM, so a tool is only ranked here if it can act in business systems. Excellent code output does not substitute for that. Not ranked here: Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Cline, Aider, OpenHands.
We build one of these tools, so treat this as an editorial argument rather than a measured verdict. The weights are all above and each tool's underlying scores are on its own comparison page, precisely so you can disagree with them.
